Our current efforts are going towards the rehabilitation of a historic, 12,000 square foot building in downtown Oneida, NY. The project transforms a vacant building into a safe, energy efficient, and sustainable affordable housing unit. The first floor will also include commercial space. The dilapidated and vacant building is being restored through the ROC Center for Employment Training (ROC CET), an on-the-job-training program for indigent at-risk veterans. Each of the ten apartments will be fully renovated with new kitchens, appliances, bathrooms, and floors. They will also be fully insulated and designed to meet Energy Star standards. Funds received will be used for program support so we can carry out this project initiative.
