MAJ Bushey attained his undergraduate degree from Le Moyne College, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a double major in political science and economics. MAJ Bushey coordinated the IBCT Rule of Law (ROL) and governance efforts to: (a) offer Afghans meaningful access to fair, efficient, and transparent justice; and (b) help increase the Afghan government’s legitimacy and improve its perceptions among Afghans by promoting a functional and efficient judicial system. He achieved success in these areas through the support and assistance of the nine Afghan attorneys and one Afghan engineer he supervised. During the deployment he was promoted to the rank of Captain.
Both the military and USAID have recognized MAJ Bushey’s strong performance. He has been awarded the USAID Superior Special Acts Award and the USAID Meritorious Honors Group Award.
